Wong Juen Vei- Partner

LLB (Hons), Barrister-at-law (Lincoln’s Inn)

Juen Vei graduated with a First Class Honours from Cardiff University in 2014 and completed the Bar Professional Training Course in 2015. He was admitted to the Malaysian Bar as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaysia on 26th August 2016, having completed his pupillage in Messrs. Skrine.

Thereafter, he was retained as an associate under the guidance of Mr Leong Wai Hong, the head of dispute resolution division in Skrine. He was involved in a broad range of litigation matters including commercial and corporate disputes, banking and finance litigation, insurance-related disputes, tort law, arbitration as well as advising on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters.

He then joined Messrs. Rahmat Lim & Partners in April 2019 as an Associate in the Project and International Arbitration division whereby his main areas of practice include construction disputes, arbitration and advising on construction-related matters.
In June 2020, he founded Tan & Wong Partnership with his fellow peer with a strong emphasis on purpose driven and personalised approach to legal services. Juen Vei strongly believes that understanding clients’ needs and priorities is of utmost importance in allowing the Firm to better assist clients achieve their goals.

 

Lim Szu Yu- Partner

LLB (Hons) University of Liverpool, CLP

Szu Yu read law at the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom where she was conferred the Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree in 2014 and thereafter completed the Certificate of Legal Practice in 2016. Szu Yu was called to the Malaysian Bar as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaysia on the 9th February 2018 upon completing her pupillage at Messrs. Abdul Rahman & Partners. During her pupillage, she was exposed to various Commercial and Corporate Banking transactions together with several real property and conveyancing matters.

After being retained as an associate in the Firm, she was assigned to the Corporate and Commercial Advisory Department wherein her strength lies. She actively involved and assisted the team in corporate dealings which value are up to millions of Ringgit Malaysia involving share sale transactions, takeovers and mergers, due diligence exercise, joint ven- tures, investments, construction and development, restructuring and reorganisation of companies, winding up and etc.

Other than corporate dealings, Szu Yu is also actively involved in company secretarial works wherein her familiarity with the codes and procedures of the Companies Act 2016 and Companies Regulations 2017 continue to grow in which she believes that all her experiences are an added advantage in accommodating clients’ demands and needs.

 

Tham Sook Wei – Partner

LL.B (Hons), LLM Aberystwyth, Wales, C.L.P Juen Vei graduated with a First Class Honours from Cardiff University in 2014 and completed the Bar Professional Training Course in 2015. He was admitted to the Malaysian Bar as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaysia on 26th August 2016, having completed his pupillage in Messrs. Skrine. Her practice area primarily is in real property transactions as well as dealing with developers, property agencies, banking and financial institutions. She was exposed extensively to practice in conveyancing related matters including the advising, negotiating and drafting of sale and purchase agreements for individual and companies in acquisition and disposal of their properties, perfection of transfer and advising financial institution in property finance transaction for both conventional and Islamic financing facilities, from commencement to completion of the transaction. She is also involved in the drafting of trust deed, leases and tenancies of property for residential use and for commercial use. She has also obtained her qualification under INCEIF for Islamic Finance. She has also experienced in family and matrimonial matters including civil separation proceedings, division of property, adoption, in addition to will writing, probate and estate administration, ancillary orders, e.g. order for sale and order to substitute administrators and executors.
